Frequently asked questions
What is the Declaration of Eligibility ?
California law states that if you hold a Class A, Class B, or Commercial Class C drivers license, you are not eligible to attend or complete traffic school in lieu of adjudicating any traffic offense. ( This means professional truck drivers and bus drivers ) not individuals with the Standard Class C driver license which is what most of us have. By acknowledging this information, you are indicating that you have been notified that drivers who hold a commercial license are not eligible to attend traffic school and that the traffic school program you are about to complete holds no responsibility or liability for your certificate to be accepted by the Court. Additionally, no refunds will be granted based on the Court not accepting your certificate.
Penalty of Perjury Statment what is it ?
Court mandated rules require defendants to accept the Penalty of Perjury statement before a Certificate of Completion can be issued! By accepting this Penalty of Perjury, you are indicating that you have been instructed by the court to attend traffic school and you alone will take this home study course to satisfy that requirement. The traffic school program you are about to complete holds no responsibility or liability for the acceptance of your certificate by the Court. Additionally, no refunds will be granted based on the court not accepting your certificate due to non-compliance with the terms of this Penalty of Perjury or any other reason determined by the court at it's discretion. Furthermore, you understand that if you do not accept the terms of the Penalty of Perjury statement a Certificate of Completion will NOT be issued.

Student registration Info validation page what is it ?
This page comes up just before the final exam. It gives the student the opportunity to review and make any changes necessary to the information the student entered when the student registered for the course. This is important because the information will be entered on the certificate of completion by the the program and used by the court to process your certificate of completion.
Important note: The info validation page is not used for the ID verification process. The ID verification process thru Idology is a separate process.

The average completion time varies, but most of our students are able to complete this course significantly quicker than 8 hours, But of course this depends on your individual reading and comprehension skills. This course is not timed.

How many quizzes/exams are there?
This traffic school internet course is designed in 6 sections and a short final exam. Each section has a 10 question practice quiz (multiple-choice and true/false). In each section there will be a KEYWORD which you should write down when you come across it in the section chapter text because you will need to answer the KEYWORD question correctly prior to beginning each quiz. The final exam typically consists mostly of 25 questions taken directly from the chapter quizzes. You must pass the final exam with a score of 80% or higher.
Note : If your county requires that you take your final exam thru a third party provider ( Coordinated Court Services ) the final exam will consists of about 40 multiple choice questions. Please note: You will be able to retake the quizzes and final exam if you do not pass the first time, at no extra charge.

Identity verification, what is that?
Identity verification is a court required procedure whereupon you as the student are required to prove your identity. This program offers two options for identity verification.

Identity verification is required by the following counties:
Alameda, El Dorado, Humboldt, Kern, Kings, Madera, Sacramento, San Bernardino, San Diego, Santa Barbara, Stanislaus,Tulare, and Tuolumne.

For the following CCS counties ID verification is now required and the process and fee will be explained to the student after they are linked over to CCS's website to take the final exam:
Glenn, Lake County, Napa, Lassen, Santa Cruz and Ventura.

OPTION 1: Online Identity Verification ( Thru IDology ) - $9.00 non CCS counties.
During the verification process thru Idology you will be asked to enter certain information to begin the process. If you are advanced to the next part of the ID verification process you will be given a selection of 3 questions for verification. If you successfully pass the ID verification process you will be able to complete the final exam online.
Important Note: If you are 20yrs. or younger or still living at home or college or if you do not have significant past address history, purchase history, or other identifying history do not attempt to use this ID verification process. You must select Option 2 Below ( The in-person Notary Public option )
Important Note: Foreign Nationals and other persons who do not have a Social Security number cannot use the online ID verification option, because you will be asked to enter the last four digits of your social security number during the ID verification process. All individuals without social security numbers will have to use the In Person ID verification option to have their identity verified.

OPTION 2: In-Person Notary Public
With this option you will be required to print out the Final Exam, Answer Sheet and Notary Verification form and take all the printed documentation, or the workbook if you are a workbook student, to a notary of your choice. You will then have to show a valid picture ID to the notary and while the notary completes the form you must complete the final exam in the their presence. After you complete the final exam you will then need to fax the final exam answer sheet and the completed notary form with the notary's signature and notary stamp to the Traffic School for grading and processing.

Where can I find a Notary Public ?
Notaries can be found in any city throughout the State. They're in Fed Ex Kinkos, Postal Annexes, UPS stores, Boxes etc., and you can look in the yellow pages. After you have finished taking the final exam you can fax the final exam answer sheet and completed notary form from these facilities which makes it very convenient for you as the student.

Will there be an additional cost for the notary ?
There may be an additional cost depending on where you find your notary. Many banks, and insurance companies will provide notary services free of charge. Notaries are limited to charging $10.00 per signature. (Remember: mobile notaries may charge for mileage and/or travel time). All additional fees, if any are the responsibility of the student
How can I contact my court ?

I have attended traffic school within the past 18 months. Can I take your online traffic school Program if I've received another ticket?
Most courts have allowed drivers to attend traffic school just once every 18 months. Most courts have applied this same limitation to home study programs but, in certain cases, an exception may be made. Under Section 41501 of the California Vehicle Code, the judge may allow you to take traffic school again to keep a citation off your record, even if you have attended traffic school, or taken a home study program within the past 18 months. In order to do so you'll have to appear before the court with a good reason why you should be allowed to take traffic school again. The decision is at the sole discretion of the court.

What if my deadline or due date has passed?
All of the courts are run a little differently. Some require that you pay for your ticket prior to granting permission to do traffic school. Other courts have you attend traffic school first and then turn in your certificate with your bail amount. Either way your court handles it, you are given a completion/due date and this date is to be taken very seriously. If you're due date is within a few days or is past due, you may wish to contact the court and request an extension. Many courts grant extensions and will work with you to allow extra time to complete your traffic school obligations.

I don't have an e-mail address
An email address is required to take this program. If you do not have an email address you can get a free email account at http://www.hotmail.com.

My internet connection in unstable, I have a dial up internet service. What if my connection is dropped ?

I am very busy, do I have to complete the course all at once?
No, you can study at your own pace. You will be able to start and stop the course as often as you need. The course can be done at your convenience because your progress will be saved in the system and noted on your student status page.

When the student completes the registration process a screen comes up with the User ID and password with instructions to write down the User ID and password because they will be needed to re-enter the course also the program auto generates an e-mail to the student's e-mail address with the User ID and password information so the student will have the information available.

There will be no questions asked as long as we haven't mailed your certificate of completion or it has not been electronically sent to the court. If you will be unable to complete the course before your due date, and think you might need to cancel your registration you may want to contact your court to see about getting an extension, or grace period, before giving up. Remember that we do have express mail options and most go by postmarks. Any and all refunds granted will be credited using the same form of payment that was used at the time of the original payment processing. The same credit card used will be refunded only.
